Brief:
To design a premium restaurant logo that captures the nostalgic charm of Old Calcutta through a modern visual identity.
Tiffin Box is a premium Bengali cuisine restaurant inspired by the cultural charm of Old Calcutta. The project reimagines the city’s nostalgic warmth through a modern identity system, combining traditional architectural motifs with clean, contemporary design. The logo reflects heritage served with simplicity and care; much like the meals it represents.
Calcutta is a city where time lingers = in the rusted verandas, steaming tea stalls, and echoes of tram bells.
It’s a place where heritage and simplicity coexist, where every meal carries a story.
The Tiffin Box brand draws from this soul; from the old houses with ornate iron grills to the comfort of a home-cooked Bengali meal shared in between work hours.
It’s not just about food; it’s about reviving the warmth and nostalgia that define Calcutta’s spirit.
I wanted to capture the essence of old Calcutta’s visual language - intricate yet humble.
The logo had to feel familiar and sophisticated, connecting the nostalgic textures of heritage homes with the modern sensibility of a premium restaurant.
I studied architectural patterns, vintage tiffin carriers, and Bengali typography styles to build a design that feels rooted yet refined.
Concept Note:
The Tiffin Box logo takes inspiration from the ornate veranda grills of old Calcutta houses, blending colonial geometry with Indian craftsmanship.
The symmetrical floral and lattice motifs symbolize warmth, home, and the artistry of everyday life.
It reflects heritage served with care; connecting past and present through a simple, elegant mark that embodies the comfort of traditional meals in a contemporary setting.

Tiffin Box celebrates Kolkata’s timeless rhythm - where every meal is a story served with warmth and nostalgia…
